Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry in Departamento de Química (Chemistry Department) of  Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, working hard in coordination compounds and molecular magnetism since 2009.

She is a member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Química (Brazilian Society of Chemistry), a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and she belongs to the LQMMol group (Laboratório de Química de Materiais Moleculares- Molecular Materials Chemistry Laboratory).

Her research interests include inorganic synthesis, molecule-based magnets, supramolecular chemistry, catalysis for the advanced oxidation of organic pollutants, and magnetic properties. Currently, she is very interested in environmental catalysis, metal-organic frameworks, luminescence and magnetic properties.

In 2017, she was awarded the "Prêmio CAPES de tese" (Best Thesis Prize) for tutoring the best thesis on Chemistry of Brazil in 2016, as well as the "Prêmio UFMG de Tese" (UFMG Prize of Thesis).

In November 2022, she was nominated as an advisory board member of CrystalEngComm, the Royal Society of Chemistry.

In June 2023, she was invited to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

In November 2023, she became Full Professor at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil.
